Hi I place this pick up (the bridge one at the moment) on my epiphone gold 56 gold top and the first impression is that the outpout volume pick up it's really less than the original one.Do you experiment the same ?

Ok i know that this antiquity are replic of the original vintage tone ,but the volume decrease it's too big I think::::
PLease let me know your own impression

Re: antiquity P90 on a epiphone gold top

Most of those epiphone pu`s have a higher output,i guess you have to add some gain on your amp! :)

Listen to the Coffeeman.

Antiquities are wound for tone, not output! So i guess that what you're experiencing is completely normal.

The last two Epi P90's I had on a meter were both over 15K...a little too hot, hmmm?

Ok i understand...but my ear can't believe!

I've just finish to compare the SD antiquity pick up on my Epiphone and an old Gibson 330 with two original Gibson pick up ,the guitars is aged 1964...and believe me in my super reverb ther's no paragon.

I'm plain' with the SD pick with my clean channel set on 4 and it's all irght ,but when I plug the old Gibson I've got to decreas at three otherwise my neighbour kill me!!!!

I hope it's not a problem of this pick up!!

Make sure it's close enough to the strings. See my other post re: Antiquity P-90s. It really fattens up (and gets louder) once you get it high enough.

It is still less output than an Epi or a more modern pup, though.

Kaffiman: I think I could get to Oakland quicker than you could (based only on distance).

....a '64 Gibson 330 ...WOW

Do you play it often?...like 23 hours a day.

Any pics ?

Sorry to deviate your post Lizhard...just love vintage gear!

Cheers (you fortunate @**~&&, you)
