Any catz mess around with that line 6 UX2?

my friend is giving me one, he doesnt use it anymore, my knowledge for recording is minimal, it would just be for ideas. thought? feelings? concerns? about UX2? easy to use? or will i need to read some big ol' book in order to operate.

I've got one of the smaller versions, a GX or something like that. It's easy to use and gives you access to their software, which I really like. It sounds good (to me) and is easy to use. You basically install the software (Gearbox or POD Farm) and install the UX2 as a USB soundcard to your computer. Make sure you get all the current drivers and software from the Line 6 site (Line 6 Monkey helps with this).

Thanks man, never heard of line 6 monkey. If my optical drive is busted, can I still dl the things needed?

Yep. Follow the prompts on when to plug in the USB box and when to unplug it.
