I hear they are supposed to be so quiet, esp. near a monitor...but mine are pretty noisy. Any common issues with this? Thanks

do you mean a computer monitor?! cause that causes all kinds of problems for ANY pickup. try turning around in a circle with the guitar on...EMGs are quieter at rests, but they are also higher output, so they are more likely to pick up outside interference like radios and computer monitors. they seem to be pretty quiet under stage lights though, if that makes sense?
