I don;t own one but have played through a few...not bad for what they are but I woudl still prefe something else...that said Clapton used them for a while and sounded good with them, Johnny Winter has been using them for a few years now to killer results, both Joe and Brad used them in the old days of Aerosmith and sounded killer...

I owned one ... it was OK but seemed "flat" compared to a regular Fender. I tried a lot of settings on it but nothing worked for me. That was my opinion. I wanted to like it but just could not ever get there. I traded it for something ... don't recall what.

My good friend who is a guitar collector had one, a head with a Peavey Cab loaded with some celestions and it sounded alright. Kinda flat as mentioned before, but pretty good for what they were.
Yes, Clapton used them, but he was also using the Explorer at that time. A lot of people questioned him when he did this... Sounded pretty good to me tho.

I had a RD65 head a few years back. I was never crazy about the S.S. preamp. Considering that, It sounded pretty good. It came stock with 6AC7 power tubes, a neat 1/2 power switch. The Verb and trem sounded Stella!
I ended up trading it for a 73' Strat neck, And never looked back.:6:

Ditto. The tube power section is fine, but the SS preamp section was a stupid idea IMO. It makes the preamp seem lifeless compared to an all tube Fender.
My old singer played through a 150W head w/tremolo. I have to admit, the best thing about the amp was that tremolo, because it sounded like a phaser or vibe pedal. I would never buy a MM amp though.....after the 2 I've used extensively and dozens I've heard. Use your money for a Fender amp instead.
