Any Marshall pedal users here??

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

I had a Shredmaster, didn't really care for it. I also had the newer Jackhammer, which I really liked, but mine had a crappy jack.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

there is a local little shop near me that has tons of them, must have like 30-40 of them just litterally stacked in boxes on top of each other (in their own sales boxes).

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

just swapped an original guv'nor as part of the deal to get my boss loop station. It was cool for what it was, but my G2D classic eats it alive for marshall-style overdrive.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

I have a bone stock Marshall Jackhammer that does a pretty convincing higher gained JCM 800 vibe...I really like the tonal control and the lowend balls this pedal gives me...It has to be really great for me not to want to somehow change the circuit a bit..

Had a Guv'nor. It was the noisiest device ever created.

I've had 2 original black Guv'nor's and didn't have any problems. Putting a delay in the loop made for nice transitions. One button turned on the overdrive and the delay. Very cool.

The new Silver Guv'nors suck a$$.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

got a jackhammer. great value for money with plenty of useable tones. I don't use it much, though, but that just me :)

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

Had a supervibe chorus. Good workhorse, nothing exceptional, did the job until i got the H2O.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

I use an ED-1 compressor. It's one of the best compressors I have ever used.

Anyone having those old Shredmasters, Guv'nors, Bluesbreakers, and so on??
I have a few of these old things once......actually liked a few of them too.
:burnout:
Found a Shredmaster in a pawn shop a few years back. Midnite_Man sent it off to a guy who modded the heck out of it. I liked it before. Love it now.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

Well I got the Bluesbreaker modded on the last day before summerbreak.
Changed the op-amp and the LED's, going to ad some more sizzle to it, but I
miss a schematic for the new one, just to make it easier, and I also changed the On LED to a blue one:laugh2:
My Guv'nor I really do not know if I should mod it yet....the parts are nice in that one, hmm maybe I should make it a +-12v one instead:burnout: hehe
Damm 9v stuff...hehe

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

Hmm im tempted in getting a jackhammer for a cheap usable hi-gain pedal. A review i read in a magazine said the battery compartment was difficult to access. Would people here agree?

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

Yeah they have an annoying way of getting it up, using a screw, they should have used a clip instead?
Anyways me and my workmate made a one day sneak attack on the firm yesterday.
Prepeared a few things before starting up again next week.
And then we had a few small projects to pursue.
I have modded my BluesbreakerII, it is still dark and wooden but it has the bite now, lots of bottomend and that old Jeff Beck sound to it now...that one is a keeper, tried my guv and liked it, but I could not reisist modding it...hehe
I mounted a 12v powersupply inside, changed all the caps to orangedrops, used a different pair of diodes as well, changed one value on a cap, made the pedal very clear and present, very 80's Marshall sound through the Hiwatt amp.
It has less bottomend than the bluesbreaker, maybe I will add some more to it, but I like that clarity it has now.
That is said I then stuck in my PlexiTone......auch that thing pushes air...
I have forgotten just how big it is in 2 weeks;)
A good day indeed, loads of chrunch for me, three different flavours, how can I not be happy??

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

I have a original Bluesbreaker. Paid 40$ for it a long time ago. I blew one up and went out and got another. I use it in plugged straight in in front of a Marshall 900 50W combo. I really only use it when I want the amp to really scream. It helps quite a bit. I have all the settings on it at 75%. Volume, Gain, Tone. Simple but it works for me!

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

I love my Bluesbreaker II, it has one of the creamiest smoothest overdrives ive ever heard and the clean boost is exactly what you need to turn a low output pickup into a high output pickup, its an awesome pedal for such little money. i have a jackhammer also, its a good pedal but it doesnt do anything for me to think WOW, and i hardly ever use it.

Re: Any Marshall pedal users here??

In the studio I tortured a Jackhammer for a while and liked it a lot. It can't compete with a real Marshall head but if you have a decent clean sound amp and want a really close JCM800 vibe - it's great.
