Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I know this is a burly forum and it's manly and impressive to have 'big, expensive equipment' ;) but will anybody here admit to using a Micro Cube for practice?

I love and cuddle my Micro Cube, it's got the sound and power of a much bigger amp but it's absolutely tiny and has chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, treolo and reverb built in as well as COSM, and it runs on 6AA batteries for 20 hours! It cost peanuts and I keep it in my bedroom so I don't have to trip over a much bigger amp.

I Don't have one, but I've got the Boss 8 track recorder with the COSM modeling and for some stuff, it's great. I also have a friend who does have the amp and he swears by it. Just loves it.

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I don't own one myself, but I really like playing through them.

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I just wanted to say that mine has only just gone through it's first set of batteries, after 60 hours of play, so obviously I've only been rocking 33.3% on it for it to have lasted that long.

I like mine. Only thing I don't care for is how the speaker farts out on some models. I love the Recto setting with a touch of chorus and echo

If you're talking about it cutting out then cutting back in again, that's just a sign that it's run out of batteries!

I have one- it's my practice amp to my JCM 800. I love it, the old Gorilla amps never sounded this good!

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I've been thinking about picking one of these or that new little Vox so I can walk around the house at night playing.

does the microcube have a speaker emulated line out and headphone jack? EDIT: Duh...click on the link Jeff..click on the link...

awww..crap..it doesn't have the fiddyonefiddy model :( I don't like the Roland Plexi models

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I picked one up a couple of years ago for use as a pratice amp. I'm using the AC adapter but I've played out in the park with friends with acoustic guitars. The little amp has exceeded my expectations.

The Microcube has a headphone jack and a line-in.

I was thinking about getting one, or a cube 15. The Cube 15 is more powerful and louder, but I like the modeling on the microcube. Also I won't have to worry too much about ticking my neighbors off too much.

Had one for a short time... was fun to fiddle with, originally intended on using it for a bit of variety....

But alas, my tone came crashing down on me like the ton of bricks it is and teh Microcube was soon therafter sold :laugh2:

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

I don't think tone matters when you are practicing, that might just be me ^_^

exactly. I was using an orange 10 watt amp for a while for that reason (for practice).

Re: Any other Roland Micro Cube users? hehe

my amp at home is a Marshall MG10. go ahead, make fun of me.

I feel that a more inspiring tone during parctice makes it 1. easier to get into (less of a "chore"), and 2. makes it more likely to continue on longer.

Also, if the tone is what my mind hears, I´m less likely to start nitpicking on small imperfections in my instrument. THis makes practice more effective.

Don´t get me wrong, practice CAN be done with essentially any tone, preferably a clean one. But that´s my version and I´m sticking to it :D:D
