Any reviews about these?

Re: Any reviews about these?

Man, that white one and the grey one are pretty far out looking. They had to have thrown some money at Rickenbacker, because they're about like Gibson. They'll sue you in the drop of a hat for copying them.

I'm not too keen on the input jack, but who cares. I'd love to play one and see how they sound and feel. It says it's made of agathis. Isn't that supposed to be a real crap wood? Or am I thinking of something else?

Perhaps so, but either that or this one is on my list right now.

I read some bad reviews about the Dean though. I want a semi 12, to replace my old 70's epi acoustic 12, ( cannot repair any longer).

Re: Any reviews about these?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about those Dean Boca's. I'm pretty sure there's a few guys on here that have them and love them.

Interesting, I have read where it literally goes out of tune consistantly. If this stayed in tune then it may be what I want. I also worry about feedback from a semi.

Re: Any reviews about these?

After some research, I have found agathis to be similar to Pine. It is considered a soft wood, but it is supposedly hard. The tonal qualities like every piece of wood is hit and miss. Many swear by it, but when ordering over the internet, do I really want to chance that I get a good one? I have read where things literally fall off the agathis wood due to its makeup. I do how ever beleive that this is a plywood on the Italia. It supposedly is brittle and will splinter easily.
I have decided to maybe go with the dean at least with that I have a idea of what I am getting into. I wish the guitar center had a Italia to play locally. I guess I should go there and see.

Re: Any reviews about these?

Ok So I found out this is designed by Trevor Wilkinson. I guess he worked with Seth and Seymour being taught about pickups. So any ways, the agathis is supposed to be a veneer over the top only.
I am so wanting to get this, but still worry about splintering and all in the agathis.
No One have tried one of these yet?
All the reviews come back as a positive on Harmony central. From 2005- 2008
HMMMMM. waddya think?
