Any Suggestions for SG sweetness

Looking to pimp out a new SG special with some sweet pickups! Already have a jazz model in another guitar (neck position) and would like to do the same for the neck in this guitar. What I need help with is advice for the bridge pickup. Have a JB in my other guitar and I like it but in this guitar I want something with some more punch, not as brassy, with a warm tone. I need something that can deliver sweet lead tones. Genres range from hard rock to blues to metal.....think lead guitar here! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I just put a Dimarzio VPAF Hot in my own SG and love it! Tight, punchy, good strong lows, very articulate, slightly raised mids, ballsy, and cuts great...

Can never go wrong with a custom in the bridge from the jist of what others recommend for the bridge spot of an SG...

I don't think of the Custom as warm, expecially in a brighter axe like an SG. Punchy, yes. Not as brassy as a JB, yes. Warm, no.

Tough call to get all of that in one pup. Without suggesting a lower output A2 humbucker, I'd probably stick with the Custom. You could always put a 300k pot in if it's a tad to bright, or just roll off the tone a little.

Not sure I helped any at all.

It looks like the Custom is the best choice thus far. Any thoughts on the Custom vs. the Custom 5 or the Custom Custom. I read on some other posts the the Custom 5 was better for playing leads than the custom which was more suited to rythym. Obviously an opinion but is there any validity there?

In a SG, also in an LP I would likely look to one of the modded PAF's by Dimarzio or SD. A PAF Pro, Fred, Pearly Gate would all be worth a shot.

My first choice would likely be a Dimarzio Super Distortion though. Although darker than a PAF type, it would include some of the PAF top end with a bit of good old Dimarzio grind it out low end without being too dark.

Also a good application for that 11-1 k pickup everyone talks about that we aren't supposed to.
