Any way to tell what type of wood this body is made from?

I got this slightly damaged body to refinish as a project. Sanded the paint off, is there any trick to determining what type of wood it's made from please? I have no info at all on the brand or model of guitar unfortunately. Thanks!

It looks like Ibanez Gio body to me. The wood could be basswood or agathis.

Seeing some green and grey, my first thought was poplar. But I'm no wood expert by any stretch.

Probably poplar, what with the hint of green

Basswood is very colorless and lacking in pattern
