i just played on at guitar center today for the first time. they just feal and look so neat. i never liked the look of them before. i thought they looked to heavy metal but now that ive played one, i totally changed my mind!
flying V's? well i never played them, but i thought their design was horrible for playing while sitting down... and i spend many hours a day playing sitting down =(

Yeah they have a tendancy to slide right off of your lap... however they do look pretty rockin' when standing on stage.
My favorite looking flying V is the Epiphone 1958 V. It's black paint with a white pickgaurd, black knobs, gold hardware, and gold covered humbuckers. the pickups leave a lot to be desired for (hey, it's epiphone what do you expect), but the look is modern yet classy.
I just got a Dean V a month or so ago. I'm liking it so far, just bought some emg's for it can't wait for them to get here and be the stereotypical metal manic :laugh2:
i just got myseld a faded series V
pretty cool prices on those things
u should chek em out
the wiring and fret dressing aint dun too well
but, just put the guitar for servicing and itll be all good
i play my V alot sitting down
just sit like a classical guitarist
u get used to it
The fret access on those gibson/epi Vs are awesome! But I don't like the way the weight is distributed. When I let go, I want the guitar to stay where it is, not tip over toward the neck.
my dream v would be a gibson korina v with a white finish, maple neck, gold hardwear, cream humbuckers, white pickguard, and pearloid binding around everything! i thought they felt fine sitting down as a classical player would.
I guess I'm a fan. I've got an '85 reissue V. It's a nice playing instrument. They're not great for playing sitting down, but if you put the inner part of the top of the V against your inner thigh, it won't go anywhere. It'll be a little lower on your lap, to be sure, but it'll stay in one place.
Ive never played one, but i guess standing up it would be cool ive heard they have good balance. BUT sitting down would be a nightmare which wuuld be why i'd never buy one.
