Anybody here running a Twang banger bridge with Alnico II neck and middle?

After the mods I'm thinking of keeping the Mex Strat and right now am running Alnico II flats neck and middle with a SSL-5 bridge. The SSL-5 is just to much of a tonal jump as in to bright and harsh in comparison to the neck and middle II's. Twangbanger from what I can find looks like it would give me a more Tele like fatter sweeter bridge tone with more meat and less shrill + being also Alnico II balance pretty well with the Alnico II flats in both output and response. Only wish it was a normal production flat but--.

Anyone here running this set up and can give me some feedback that I'm on the right track? Looking for more or a traditional Strat tone but with a little more meat and a softer attack on the top end with this one.

Really going out and listening to different pickups on line. Not a huge number of clips for the Twangbanger but really starting to like what I hear with the Antiquity Texas Hot Bridge. Anybody had experience with both? Looking for a big round tone which I have gotten in the past with SSL-5/6's but find this combo to harsh and the difference in the response and tone to different going to the bridge. Kinda have it down to one or the other between the Twang banger and Texas Hot bridge. Wish I could hear both on the same tune in about the same guitar but--.

My experience with the A2S were that i found them a bit too round and underpowered. I wonder whether they will live up with a 500k volume and will pair with the SSL 5 or 6 with 250k volume pot?

I'm pretty happy with the Alnico II neck and middle tones it's the big jump io the SSL-5 in more the sharper shriller tone than the output that is the issue. Want more fat sweet and less shrill out of the bridge and more of a balance.

I love my TwangBanger,
The SL-5 is really quite strong with your mid and neck. The TBanger is wound hotter at, around 8K, with a nice mid bump from the copper plate on the bottom. The SSL-5 is very hot around 13K or so. And yes the volume Difference is quite audible. The TBanger is bright also but not harsh in my opinion. Should match well. Plus you get to try it out and return if you don't like.
Good hunting

I loved the Twangbanger when I had it fitted in my G&L Legacy. I've been through a few changes on that guitar and it currently has Antiquity Surfers fitted, but I am toying with putting a Twangbanger back in it. I think it would be a really good match with your Alnico IIs.

No idea but seems like a potentially cool combination.

Sounds like it might be roughly along the lines of what Albert Lee uses in his music man, although I think his may be alnico 3.
It also seems to be what SD recommend as a combination for the twang banger (albeit with the staggered set).

In the end I went with a Antiquity Texas Hot bridge. The more I listened to those the more I like. May eventually go with that entire set as I hear a tone with those in about every clip I have heard that grabs me. Thanks to everybody here who chimed in and I made the cut because of the thought of at the least adding the Texas Hot neck if I really like this bridge or would have gone Twangbanger with the Alnico II flats.
What I have been looking for is getting this tone with my Strat. Think with the rigs I have the Texas might just get me pretty close.

Been playing with this guy off and on for years when he is local and he always asks if I have a Strat so next time--. Dave here is a great player but I like a little more meat and heat in my tone so think the Texas hot full set might just do the trick. Want to see what i think of that bridge first though.
