Anybody ordered a CS Bardens set?

Just wondering if anyone here has ordered a set of Custom Shop Bardens tele pickups yet... how much are they and what is the lead time?

I'm going to order a set right now. I'm calling MJ in a couple of minutes.

One set for my Tele...one set for my Strat.

We'll find out if this is for real or not in about 5 minutes.

All right...MJ wss on the phone so I left her a message that I wanted to order one set for a Tele and one for a Strat. Now if she'll just get back with me...

Lew- Did you say strat? Is it based on the S delux (curved blade)? What's the $-

I'm finding out the story...

Don't know costs or anything yet.

I don't even know for sure if MJ will really do this!

But I'll keep you posted.

I'll call her again later today if I don't hear back from her soon.

MJ is only winding Barden clones in Tele versions...no Strat pickups yet. The cost isn't too bad I forget the exact cost. Also, they are not ready just yet...should be soon!

Did they reverse engineer some Barden's? How did this come to be?

And from there, it´s not too hard... wire gauge, insulation, and magnet strenth are easy to find out, I´m pretty sure MJ or Seymour can tell 2 or 3 other important factors just by looking at the coil from 5 feet, and from then on I think it´s probably just a question of experience in winding... and MJ has a lot of that ;)

Hmmm... I was under the impression that they were licensed to make them by Joe Bardens, since he can longer make them himself. So MJ and crew are a bunch of "pirates"? :smack:

So we are not supposed to make bootleg copies of music CDs or software programs, but it is okay to make bootleg copies of guitar pickups...

What the heck- I'd order a set if they were stolen from Joe's mother... :laugh2:

I think thats correct. Somewhere in the deep, dark recess's of my memory is a thread about Duncan and Barden collaborating on this.

Somewhere . . . deep . . . dark . . .
