Anybody running the new Supros yet?

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

I played through a few and really liked them. Of course I want one, but what else is new? I've seen a couple pop up on LA Craigslist, but people want top dollar for them still.

I'm wondering if the new Supro will stick around for awhile, or be gone shortly, making the reissues collectible?
I like the tone of them though, especially for slide and roots rock. Even moreso than Fender tweeds.

A Bunch of the old Chicago and Delta Blues guys used Supros, I think, casue they were a lot cheaper then fenders. And or Course Jimmy Page with the initial Blues Rock recordings.

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

The guys at Pigtronix brought Supro back, the guitars are coming too.

They seem to have a pretty good handle on the business side of it.

Dual Tone or Thunderbolt Plus........no rush. My friend's shop has almost all of them in stock I'll have fun figuring it all out I'm sure

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

Played a couple of them and found them disappointing.
I'm probably the biggest Bruce Zinky fan here on this board but in comparison to my "real" Zinky amps find these lacking. Was all set to snag one but just don't think they measure up to the Zinky standard I'm used to! Expected cleans on par with say a Vibro King and killer high gain tones but found both lacking on every one I have played so far.

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

These are not designed to be modern hi gain amps, they're far more about the character/tone that they have as opposed to be being Fender or Soldano.

They're made to be opened up and rocked, that is their appeal. Curious which ones you played?

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

The sound clips on the Supro site didn't inspire me to further investigate. :disappoin

Re: Anybody running the new Supros yet?

They sound like old school kick ass amps, plug and play.
