Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

Re: Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

what a hunk of junk!

"Because it is not an inertia block floating free above the body, it does not require the mass of a conventional trem block."

what a load of BS!

Re: Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

i've heard of that. It's actually pretty good. i know there are other solutions to immobilizing the bridge, but this works really well. I've seen many good reviews.

Re: Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

I've spoken with the guy who makes them and he is a super nice dude. He actually sent me a prototype of a different product just because I asked about them. The thing I tried was high quality and he was a great guy.

Yeah, but all you really have to do is add some springs and tighten some screws...just saved myself $20!

Re: Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

...and last time I saw those things they were going for $30 or $40.

Re: Anybody seen these on Ebay yet?

I've actually heard good things about them. As for why would you want the guitar to be lighter....it's kind of like putting the lightweight tailpiece on a Les Paul. Sometimes the lighter stuff resonates better.

Different strokes for different folks.

maybe the axe will be a hardtail, but sustain will turn to sh!t.

Actually, the physics of it denotes that energy transfer through springs versus a solid block of aluminum will be less. The result is that springs will act more as a dampener from the block to the rest of the body. Additinally the length of travel between the where the spring meets the block and where the spring attaches to the claw is longer than the length of travel between the threaded screw. Therefore the amount of energy that gets directly transferred has two solid areas for which to dissipate and be lost in the cavity....

....mister smarty-pants!

It does, on a very core level, acheive the same goal - keeping the bridge down flat tot he body. But technically if you were bored and had a weekend and some crazy glue you could do the same thing....and get stoned the bejeebus while you were doing it!

Some folks can feel the difference between a Strat hardtail and a Strat with a blocked bridge. I can't say I've ever been that neurotic tonally. But then again an entire industry exists on selling idiots premium instrument cables and believing that Eric Johnson can hear the difference between a Duracell and an Energizer in his Wah pedal.

I personally maintain that if you can hear those differences then I'd appreciate you coming out to my palce and standing in the backyard and letting me know when a tit-mouse farts. Surely if your ears are that in tune to such subtleties a mouse passing gas at 500 yards must be the sonic equivilant of an atomic bomb going off in your shorts.
