Anybody tried a Beta 56A?

Pretty much everybody likes the Shure SM57 as a no-brainer choice for miking guitar amps. I'm looking at the Beta 56A - I like its form factor, swivel-mounted (no mounting clip) vs. the 57's handheld-style case. The 56A would also be great on small stages - it sticks out from the front of the amp a lot less. Overall, much more practical than the traditional SM57.

But man, the Beta is a lot more expensive - $160 vs. $100. Convenience ands practicality is only worth so much. For than kind of bread, it would also have to sound fantastic. So, how do they sound?

Does anybody remember the SM56? I wish Shure still made that one.

this is the snare mic or tom mic? yeah i used one a few times and thought it sounded great! fatter than a sm57, maybe not as much upper mid/high cut but i really liked it

Yes, it's sold as a snare/tom/amp mike.

I just know the 56c for BassDrum.It sounds descent!

Try a sennheiser e609 silver
It`s a good alternative to the 57,109$ just a tip
