Anybody using a 59n4 and a JB2?

I am thinking about a magnet swap but after I get my wiring situation hammered out. My guitar has a mahogany body with a maple cap, maple neck rosewood fingerboard, it's a G&L ASAT tribute and I put a 59/JB in it because that is what comes in the USA model. Even though that is the recipe for a warm sounding guitar I don't think it falls in that camp.

I have a A459n paired with an RCUOA5 JB in a mahogany Schecter Blackjack. I'm not a big fan of A2's because they're not tight enough with the low end for my purposes.

See, I didn't like the JB2, but that has more to do with me not digging the JB vibe more than anything. I don't really like it with any magnet, really. I didn't think an Alnico II magnet did much to knock the 'JB-ness' out of it.

You know, that combo is probably my favorite version of the 59/JB combo. The neck isn't boomy, the bridge doesn't have its characteristic harsh midspike, and they match pretty well for an excellent middle position. I've only tried this combo in a Les Paul though, which is definitely pretty different than an ASAT.

I have both pickups but haven't had them in the same guitar at the same time, so I couldn't speak to the middle position. But I could see them matching really well. The JB2 was like a louder WLH which is like a better 59B, and the 59nA4 was like a louder more even A2Pn. Same ballpark playing on the same team but homemade uniforms playing different positions.
