Anyone cane help me with some information on a late '90s ESP Horizon?

I recently got an ESP Horizon on a trade, however it's been a bit hard to get some more information about her, apparently ESP didn't begin keeping records until 2005.

According to dystrust it is a late 90s Japanese ESP Horizon, probably a Standard.
It's a bolt-on neck construction, all-black hardware, black body with natural binding, a 3+3 headstock with a locking nut and retainer bar, Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, single volume, single tone and a 5-way that is located vertically bellow the volume pot.
The tuning keys are unbranded but have "Made in Japan" stamped on them which also ties in with dystrust saying they're Gotohs, it has an OFR, an as-of-yet unidentified Duncan in the bridge (to my ears it sounds like a JB but doesn't hit my amp as hard as it should) and an unbranded neck pu (if it's stock dystrust says it should be an ESP LH-200s). Finally the neckplate has a 5-digit number stamped under the ESP logo (3s, 7s and 9s).

Things I still don't know is what the body is made of (sounds like Alder to me though), the exact year of manufacture (is it part of the SN/can it be deduced from it?) and the kind of finish on the body and back of neck (seems like oil).

While in perfect working order, the guitar has seen better days and I wanna bring her back to her original form to the best of my ability.

That means being able to clean the dark spots from the back of the neck (I know a lot of people love the look but I just can't stand it) and if at all possible repair the swirl/scratches on the back and front and maybe even fill out the chips on the sides and front of the headstock.

I wanna know what is possible as well as worth it and what is better left alone.

I also contacted ESP but the only thing they said was that "that model would resemble a ESP Horizon that would have been manufactured sometime in the late 1990's"

Thanks!

Serials from that era are pretty much useless for determining production (or any other) info. Probably a 1997/1998. Most likely alder since it's a solid color. When unsure, I take off the neck and inspect the pocket as it should be bare wood. Body is most likely poly. Not sure on the neck finish. It is pictured in this catalog on page 8:

Hey man, it was the Washburn MG-100, between the Stinnett, the Parker, the MG-122 and MG-104 she was being left unattended and unloved so I thought I'd better give her to another loving home.

Truth be told I originally tried to sell her but this young man contacted me and asked for a trade. Went to his home, we chatted up a while, played some with each others' guitar and decided we should accommodate each other.

His is actually worth more than the Washy here but he wanted more of a super-strat axe than a straight out superstrat and felt that she suited his tastes better.
I thought I'd fix her up, see if I can bond with her enough to have a stable position in the rotation and if not, sell her herself.
That said, the neck is very comfortable and fast but I have the suspicion that the nut has the narrow spacing, an easy enough fix as I have two spare nuts myself from my Swing, the original and the one that came with the Gotoh upgrade (I used an Ebanol non-locking on her).

I don't know why I didn't think of the wayback machine. Good catch!

It's been a while since I sold my late 90s ESP, but if I remember correctly, the LH-200 had a brass baseplate, but didn't look like a DiMarzio otherwise. The body wood is almost certainly alder as they only used ash for transparent finishes. The body finish is poly, and the neck should be satin poly so I wouldn't worry too much about damage as long as you're careful. No idea on the serial, so unfortunately I can't help you with that.

Decided it was too much for me, gave her to my tech today, told him to see what could be done to clean her up and of course do the usual, fret level/re-crown, clean up and maintain the Floyd Rose (gave him all the spare parts I had accumulated over the years to use as he sees fit), check the electronics and since I trust him so much, gave him my cache of extra pickups and told him to use the one(s) he thinks will work best. Ideally I'd want to trye them out myself after the make-over but he's currently moving to a new location so that would be problematic for him.

Will know more after he calls me back!

@ Obsessive Compulsive & dystrust, that's what I thought more or less but thanks a lot for confirming!

It appears she must be a 1997, maybe '98, probably not '99.

Pretty thin body though, almost Parker thin if it weren't for the arched top (well, I did say almost).
