Anyone care to verify a diagram for me?

Also wondering if there is a problem with lifting the ground in position 4 or any other issues. HH guitar, Dimarzio color code. Position 4 should be neck screw coil and bridge slug coil in series. Thanks

Its all good, but with one small potential problem. If you draw out each circuit, in the #4 position, you have this:

The bridge screw coil will be hanging out on the "hot" side of your circuit. This could pick up some noise. There's a way around this, but I was just heading out the door. I'll get back to this a bit later.

Thanks, I was concerned about the way that was hanging out there but didn't see a way around it.

I am going this route after trying the following HH setups and think this may be better. You might also be interested and likely already know of a super 5 way setup that offers the three standard positions and a 3rd and 4th virtual humbucker but I wonder if that may be a little too similar in sound, comparing the two virtuals.

I apologize for the positions being reversed from normal, but as you know this is how Dimarzio does it and I modded their diagram. :)

Example #1 - I like 2 and 4 below, but think the virtual 3rd would be better in position 4 and Neck Parallel in position 2, would nearly give me position 2 (Neck South & Bridge North Coils Parallel) as in Example #2 below, but with stronger output.

1. Neck
2. Neck Parallel
3. Neck & Bridge
4. Bridge Parallel
5. Bridge

Example #2 - positions 2 and 4 are similar but I like 2 best

1. Neck
2. Neck South & Bridge North Coils Parallel
3. Neck & Bridge
4. Neck North & Bridge South Coils Parallel
5. Bridge

Halfway between your two selection permutations lies an Ibanez circuit, common to numerous HH pickup models.

1 Neck HB (coils in series)
2 Neck HB (coils in parallel)
3 Neck and Bridge HBs
4 Inside coils (fake Stratty sound)
5 Bridge HB (coils in series)

This circuit requires either a four pole, five-way selector switch or a special OTAX two pole five way switch.

Another possibility is the Schaller Megaswitch P. This five-way lever selector switch mimics the coil combinations of a Paul Reed Smith rotary selector. One of the combinations is Inside Coils linked in series. Both HBs on at once is not offered. (To get that, you would need to mimic the early PRS so-called Power Out Of Phase circuit.)

Re: Anyone care to verify a diagram for me?

Well, to be honest, the PRS Inside Coils In Series sound is a bit "meh". On a twenty four fret guitar, you would hope that the combination would sound a bit "Brian May" but it doesn't.

Re: Anyone care to verify a diagram for me?

Hmmm, my intent is to turn the neck pickup 180 degrees from original scheme (screw poles up), screw poles will remain down on the bridge pickup and it's a 22 fretter. Better?
