Anyone ever had to rewire a Rickenbacker 360?

Hey guys.

A friend of mine has recently asked me if I could help him sort out some electrical gremlins he seems to be getting with his Rickenbacker 360 as he knows I've rewired guitars and done pickup swaps etc in the past.

Anyways, after a bit of faffing about I think I've narrowed it down to 1 of, possibly both, the jack sockets on the guitar. Easy peesy I think, I'll swap them out and job done. Nope; they're nothing like anything I've ever seen before!

Does anyone know where I can get replacement jack sockets for this Rickie from in the UK? I can't seem to find anything on any of the sites I usually use.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

There is an eBay shop named something like Ricky Sounds. They should have the parts for true Rick-o-Sound wiring. Anyone with any sense either borrows the Gibson circuit idea or just runs in mono.

Needless to say, hang on to the original dual output jack socket plate.

If you can wait until evening, I could photograph the sockets from a 4001 bass.

Hi Guys.

Thanks for the info so far, I appreciate it :)

I always knew they were stereo outputs but I never realised that even the 'mono' output was some sort of stereo jack too.

I may just buy a harness with both the jacks on and swap that over, seems easier than trying to fit the 2 specialist jacks on their own :D
