anyone ever tried...

I don't have photo shop or the likes so am going to try and explain.
I'm thinking of removing the bridge & mid pups from one of my strats and move the bridge where the mid pup should be. Then put the bridge pup back in place of the neck pup.
Am also thinking of going with a split bucker so will have some variation in tone.
Not quite sure as yet on what pup to use but am thinking coolrails.
Also thought of cutting and reshapeing the body but don't want to take away much from the natural sound.
anyone seen or heard of this ?

Wait, you mean move the bridge (as in the tremolo/hardtail/TOM/Floyd Rose/whatever) to the spot where the middle pickup is?

Sorry to tell you but that would totally screw up the guitar's scale to I don't even know what.
What I DO know that you wouldn't be able to get even one note right...

Re: anyone ever tried...

yeah a guitar is very mathemically built

i dont know if thats the right way to say it
but there are alot of things that make a guitar a guitar
and theyre more complicated than lots of people guess

Re: anyone ever tried...

Yeah, was wondering what it'd do to the intonation. Was thinking it might could be moved to where you chime the strings above the pup ( if that makes sense ).
I've seen small scale axes ( wish I could remember the name ) built similar to what I'm talking about but didn't notice the fret width or neck length. I'm sure these have to be factered in. Thought it's be really cool if it worked. But then again ??

Re: anyone ever tried...

Just setting the intonation won't do anything, the frets are spaced according to the scale the guitar has, you'd need a new neck as well...
