Anyone from Minneapolis? Where should I take my guitar?

I just want a perfect setup done on my Music Man but I don't trust people. GC is not an option, I went down to my local guitar place and not sure I trust the young dudes there.

It doesn't seem to play as easy as it used to, could be mental too.

I like Twin Town as a they are a friendly shop, great gear, and fix at a decent fee. You need to be specific about how you want your axe to feel and play, then you should be fine.

I'd say Hoffman guitars. They've been around for a LOONG time. I went to school for guitar repair about 15 years ago and one of the guys from Hoffman did a demo on something, can't remember what, but the dude knew his stuff.

Worth checking out, anyway.

Good luck!

Willies American Guitars is the coolest place I've ever been. One of the only reasons I go to Minneapolis.

Ok, I used to live by Twin Towns, might head over there.

Was thinking about Willie's but I never go to St Paul.

I'd give hoffman a call. They cut a nut for my dad's acoustic and did an amazing job. Perfectly cut and perfectly set up.

Willies is a great store, but I despise their salesmen. Their salesmen are a bunch of elitist name dropping pricks. The last time I took a guitar there to get a new nut cut they wouldn't repair it because it wasn't a classic guitar. I also had to put up with a lecture about the inherent inferiority of new guitars.

Yeah, I've been there a few times and they were a little too cool for school to me. They do have some excellent gear though.

I like their gear selection, but I can't stomach their salesmen.

Is Empire still on South Lyndale?

You mean Encore, yep it is. I prefer Encore or Twin Town over the St Paul offering. Hoffman, is spendy and not really yer rock n roll shop. Great to dial in an acoustic, but not where I would put my $$ for the louder side of things.

Yep. That is what I meant. Good guy in there when I have stopped in over the years on visits to The Cities.
