Anyone got an extra 100 G's?

Re: Anyone got an extra 100 G's?

can't say that i have ever even seen 100,000 dollars.

Nice guitar though

I could buy a rent house for that type of money. Funny thing though, if that guitar is legit, it'll appreciate at a higher rate and will be worth far more in 20 years than the next rent house I'm going to buy.

TRUE!!!

here is a funny short story that will make you sick. J Macsic (the guitar player from Dinosaur Jr.) bought a Les Paul in a pawn shop once, it looked to be a 52, complete with trapeze tailpiece, he sent the guitar to Gibson to have it authincated. Not only was it a real 52, but the people at Gison said it was one of te first 100 ever made...it was in about 8.75 out of 10 on the condition scale, and it was in the original soft case...what did Jay pay for the guitar you ask? one hundred dollars...

Re: Anyone got an extra 100 G's?

Funny but I know one of the bidders there and if he gets it, I am going to pay him a visit!!

You're absolutely right about that Scott. I don;t see an end to the prices of vintage stuff. You'ld definitely be making a good investment...it's just the initial 100Gs that's the sticking point :laugh2:

Nice pics though.

If i owned that guitar it wouldn't be in it's original case, that's for sure.

I'd have it in a bomb-proof vault surrounded in 20 tons of bubblewrap, gaurded by ex-Navy SEAL's.

I don't think i could ever play that thing.
Just slightly off topic but if you ever go to Hamburg check out a music store called No 1. It has a vault there and in it there are a couple of '58 strats, '59 LP an early Teles (can't remember the year) and also a '65 ES 335.

Oh, I could, and would play that... not out, but I dream of old wood like that. I love the smell and the feel of old instruments. The figure on that back is beautiful...

Granted, I wouldn't keep it out leaning against my amp in the living room, but it would get played.

Re: Anyone got an extra 100 G's?

i bet that would sound great... with a zakk wylde EMG set
