Anyone have a Gibson Les Paul BFG?

I'm super late to the game on these but man, they look pretty awesome. Bare bones. Unique look. Chambered and resonant bodies and a pretty reasonable pricepoint.

interested to hear from anyone with actual experience on one?

Man that looks great. I’d love to get the original run with the P90 neck and humbucker bridge but they seem harder to find at a reasonable price.

How’s the weight? The later ones had a different chambering I think?

Mine is chambered. It's light for an LP. I use it for the studio and the stage. Really is a great guitar.

Yessir!
Mines an 18, (2 buckers)
I bought it brand new in like 2022...?
I added a Duncan Distortion to it.
Swapped out the tuners for Gotoh lockers.

It's one of my absolute favorite players. And my favorite Les Paul by far !

Does the back of the body/neck have grain filler?

Both my Tribute and my Modern Lite have the satin Nitro finish, similar to those, I suppose. But the Lite has no grainfill, and the Tribute does. They do have a different feel and look. I like both. Just curious about the BFG's.

I'm not 100% positive .... But I'm guessing no.

Mine was 2008. Unique aesthetic, nice weight, good sound from HB - P90 set, albeit not fairly good selection of mahogany. I'd say BFG is when imperfection is good enough.

Actually, I now own 2 of them.

The cherry one just showed up.
It has a P90 and a BB3, also the regular toggle switch is actually a Killswitch. And the one down below is the real toggle.

I just got home from the hospital and haven't even plugged it in yet

I just pulled the poker chip (not supposed to be there) off the cherry one, I also have a red zebra TB-6 for it, but hat will have to wait until I can walk a bit better to swap out..

I now understand what a P90 is all about after playing it for half an hour or so.
