Anyone have an RFT tube in V2 Deluxe Reverb?

I read an article in Vintage Guitar Magazine on NOS RFT tubes. I decided to grab one off Ebay to try in V2 of my Silverface Deluxe Reverb. Apparently they have a smoother early breakup and take out some of the treble spike. According to Eurotubes, they're pretty tough to find. ANyone have experience with this? I didn't get mine yet but I should have it today and in time for my weekend gigs.

They are great in JCM800 era Marshalls, and don't know why they wouldn't be great in a DR.

RFT was the best East German tube company during the cold war.

RFT (along with Siemens in West Germany) absorbed the asets of GEMA, a electronics firm that built radar and sonar equipment for Germany during World War Two. GEMA was actually started by a pair of young recording enigineers. Prior to inventing operational radar, they had invented several recording devices, and had developed several advanced recording techniques, including multiple mic'ing, phase shifting,.. delays...ect... they held a strong relationship with Nueman microphones. Their expertize in sound recording and processing, and in designing and building vacuum tube circuts brought them to the attention of the German Navy.

During the war they developed a strong relationship with Siemens, and that is probably why Siemens took over for GEMA in the west after the war.

GEMA designed and built their own tubes despite being a small company. Originally, they just used primarily Philips tubes from Holland, and on occasion Telefunken or RCA tubes, but they had to establish their own tube building workshops as their own equipment became more specialized. Many of the people that had run the GEMA tube factories and the actual factories became RFT.

One of GEMA co-founders, Hans von Willisen started building musical instrument amps after WWII in West Germany, but the bussiness failed, before the 50's and the Rocknroll revolution.
