Re: Anyone know anything about old Framus Guitars?
Some of them are/were really nice, but a lot of them that ended up (over here in the USA anyway) were the low-end Teisco grade instruments. Maybe they sent more of the "nice" ones over to the UK... I think if you could actually try this Framus out thru your rig before trading that would be the best. If you like it enough to keep it, fine. If you want to trade just to trade it on, you might have a problem getting your (sorry, can't find the "pound" symbol on this thing...) back. Most everyone knows what a Gibby V is worth, but who knows about the Framus (as you are finding out)
If it was me, and I felt the Framus was something I'd keep and play for a while, I'd do it, anyway. I had a Hofner bass that nobody over here knew anything about, and every time I'd try to sell or trade it on something, nobody wanted it because it was an unknown quality thing. So yeah, don't do it if you plan on ever selling it later...
But do post pix if you get it, I really dig seeing "odd-ball" guitars.
