Anyone know what kinda guitar this is ?

Hello.

Been checking some free ads for around my area and this guy is selling this guitar (pictured) for £30 , like $48.

Apart from just looking at it - All the info. that i can get from the guy is that its a guitar and ... its in Cherry red.

Some info would be much appreciated and that if its worth buying , even just for a little scrap project.

I'm pretty sure that's a Teisco. The headstock, pickups, and bridge scream Teisco.

I couldn't tell you what, though. They made a ton of models.

Seriously, Danzy, that is one of the ugliest guitars I've ever seen. I have a feeling it's been home built by some weird kid with really bad taste. It's like someone took everything ugly in guitars and put all those elements into one hideous monstrosity.

Of course, some guys like Jaguars, Mustangs etc and will probably think it looks awesome.

Def an antique prob Asian, 1960s , very surfy-gritty lo-fi oneofakind sound with a unique attack. I have a comparable ax w roller bridge. Buy it,& if it doesnt work out sell it to Tom Waits,or Joe Gore, or Cake... If the intonations out, use it for slide

Ermm .. i dont mind Mustangs or Jaguars. :naughty:



Its not the most pleasant looking guitar , ive seen worse but its cheappp and i wouldnt mind having it and i know some people who would buy it off me if need be. Thanks for the info. peeeps !

Been checking out some of the Teisco guitars , some are very strange looking.
But i can defo. see the Teisco resemblance. They sound kinda nice aswell imo.

Well im gonna buy it and see what its like ! Cant go wrong for the price.

Could be a '60s Kawai (or made by them for another brand - they did that after the mid '60s) - dead ringer for this one except for the angled pu. If memory serves, Kawai bought Teisco in '67 and made guitars under that brand, their own, Domino, Telestar and some others.

Ahhh nice one for the research , i cant find the exact same looking model but that right there is certainly it. Very curious about it now , Should be interesting to play.

Bound neck and an adjustable trussrod. Could be one of the higher-range models.


And it could rain donuts tomorrow.
