Anyone not happy with their Antiquity Texas Hot?

I've got one in the neck and middle position of my guitar. It gets a really thick sound but it doesn't seem to be very accurate for Hendrix. Sounds more SRV to me ... darker and heavier.

Would the surf Antiquitys be better ... or maybe a plain old regular Duncan single coil for Hendrix?

I Love my Texas Hots....What makes one pickup "better" than the other though? Basically you need to try different pickups until you find the right ones for your tonal desires...

The Surfers are brighter and more bell like and vintage sounding, but I won't say they were better...

The Texas hots are pretty thick for singles...if you want a more Hendrix type tone, Surefers or plain old SSL-1 are the ticket

Hi, I'm new here! I found myself wanting Strat pickups that were at least somewhere under 6.00K. All the old Fender pickups were, generally. I had my neck Ant. Texas Hot rewound to 5.80K. As usual, the bridge pickup isn't as much of a problem, mine being 6.40K as from Duncan. True old Strat tone comes from lighter wound pickups. I do like the SSL-1 in the bridge, however. They are brighter than most pickups that are 6.50K-ish.

The Surfers are the ticket, I found the Texas Hots to be dark as well.
