Anyone own an Agile LP??

Guys,

What's with these Agile LP copies sold at Rhondo music? They look incredible and I am hearing nothing but great things about them. Needless to say, I am feeling a little ill that I spent so much more for a les Paul. They get insane reviews and I gigged with a guy lasy night who owns one. He didn't have it at the gig but swears it plays and sounds as good as any LP he's played.

Re: Anyone own an Agile LP??

I have the 2500 LP DC... it's really nice. The neck is the 60s style LP neck, it balances pretty well, and plays excellently. The woods are high quality, and the finish is well done. Weaknesses are the bridge and pickups, but most people replace those anyway.

So, no reason to buy a real LP....

unless you want the name. no. but due to the recent headstock changes that agile has done (very hideous looking) you might want to go the ebay route.. you find a good old stock agile on ebay, jump all over it

*edit for typos :smack:

Re: Anyone own an Agile LP??

yeah, new headstocks are ugly, hopefull theyll change back to somethin similar

Re: Anyone own an Agile LP??

Hate to rain on the Agille Parade but.... I work right by Rondo and have stopped there several times to check these out and the truth is they are a copy of a LP in style only. They play, feel and sound nothing like a Real LP. The ones I played (over a dozen) had stain bleeding all over the binding and the electronics are unusable. Anyone who owns a real LP will laugh after playing one of these.... High Quality wood????

Telling someone there is no reason to own a Real LP and to imply that an Agile is just as good is not real good guidance as nothing could be further from the truth....

Flame Away....

Copies can't be better than the real thing.

Its unpossible.

And if they were, then they wouldn't be copies; would they?

Re: Anyone own an Agile LP??

Yeah, I Agiles are good for the money, but they're aren't Gibsons. I own both, and I like both. With that said, my Agile is fun to have around, but I gig with my Gibson. You really can't compare the two, as they are in totally different price/quality ranges.

I agree with SBS. I own both and the two are similar in design only. THe LP has much nicer appointments, hardware and build quality. Not sure about the wood but I would imagine its a nicer piece as well.

Yeah, c'mon guys, saying an Agile is as good as a Gibson LP...

High quality woods ?? Not sure 'bout this. Dont forget that you have what you pay for, they might be good for the money, but it will never feel like the real deal.

I had a G-400 2 years ago, thought it was a great guitar, no need for a gibson, but as soon as I bought my Gibson SG, I knew it was different.
