Anyone tried Bill Lawrence L290's

I'm thinking about placing the order for a full set of single coil L290's for my SRV type warmoth. I want it a little hotter than the classic sounding L280's and I think the 290 might be a little more versatile for blues, rock, a little heavy etc. because of it being a slight bit hotter and more middy. I'm not looking for a total SRV tone, the guitar itself is just basically almost exact to spec as the #1 though. I'm curious about this setup because everyone I've read usually uses either a full set of 280's or a 290 bridge and 280 mid and neck. I'm hoping a full 290 set will still produce great cleans, I guess that's my main concern. So, anyone know something?

That is one set I have not tried. Judging by playing Bills other pickups, I assure you they will be outstanding!!! Judging by what you are looking for in tone, the 280's will already give all that to ya. I wish I could help you more. The only thing I can suggest is calling Bill or Becky, or dealing with HC reviews.

I have been using the L-280s for a while now, and I love them. They sound great with distortion, and bell like and chimey clean. I would like to try an L-290 in the bridge-currently have my SDS-1 in there, which does make a good match with the Lawrences.
