Re: Anyone tried the Antiquity Jazz humbucker?

I have the 35th anniversary Jazz Neck and it’s the best neck pickup I’ve ever used. It’s my standard other necks are compared to. It can get into PAF-ish/335 neck tone area but also hang with modern pickups. The Ant is just a degaussed pre-filthy version of the same.

If you have a Jazz laying around, a 1/16th in thick piece of solid nonferrous material can be used to weaken the magnetic field of the magnet, which is pretty similar in effect to the degaussing that SD does on the antiquity neck model, plus it's cheaper and you can do coil splits.

It won't be exactly the same and won't have quite the same mojo to it (ie butyrate bobbins, maple spacers, long legs, braided vintage wire; none of which have a substantial effect on tone), but it would require a decent ear to be able to tell the difference.
