Anyone tried the Schecter Hellwin?

Re: Anyone tried the Schecter Hellwin?

keyboard warriors luuuuuurv to hate this guy, i personally wouldnt buy his sig amp, unless it blew my socks off. The reg non sig amp looks aight, with the 6,7,8 string voicing knob, hellraiser? so many amps these days. idk seems they call everything hellraiser, and slap some grandma pearl necklace around the edge. i just stick to mines, and try to worry about actually tracking jams.

Re: Anyone tried the Schecter Hellwin?

This is an amp that upper middle class kids will have their parents buy them, along with the guitar, and they'll spend their time learning all A7X's songs and putting them on youtube. I don't see anyone who gigs seriously buying this. I could be wrong, though.

Re: Anyone tried the Schecter Hellwin?

I see your point and the name alone makes it seem cheesy to me, but, I do like the cleans and tho Ive not heard many good demos of the gains, it could be a good amp. The designer is IIRC James Brown (?). Whoever he is, he designed some really great amps like the 5150 and others.

I wouldnt buy gear cuz of being a fan boy and for the most part sig things kinda make me shy away, but I do like the band and Syns playing. Was cool to see some shred and tude come back to metal.

Check out the AmpTweaker pedals, that's James Brown's company. The TightMetal and TightRock are pretty close to Peavey tube amps in a pedal.

Look into some of the New Wave Of Thrash bands, much better stuff than A7X.

Re: Anyone tried the Schecter Hellwin?

10 years from now when that band is long forgotten and they've been OOP for 8 years I'll get one for a song and tell you guys how awesome it is and that I paid $200 for it at the flea market. True story.
