I saw April Wine live about 3-4 years ago...what a great show. I wasn't that close to the stage, but the main guitarist played a Les Paul most of the time through a Marshall stack...probably an older JCM800. He played a strat on a song or two however. They have a really smooth sound, so I'd guess his signal was fairly compressed with a bit of chorus and verb.
They have some great tunes that you don't think about until you hear them.

Oh man I love April Wine especially "Harder, Faster" they were playing in Montreal last time I was up there but the show was the day after I left, I was bummed! Les Pals galore in the only pic I have left, I would guess Marshalls.
I was just looking on their website and Brian Greenway participates in their forum, can't get it anymore direct than that!
