First posting. Newby. Pls be gentle.
"inherited" a box of goodies which included an SD APS-1 (middle).
At least that's what the case says . no serial number.
Looks like the picture of APS-1 shown on line.
How can I tell if it is genuine?
Here's my plan. I have a '64 Gibson Melody Maker which I picked up back in the 70's. Found the orig gibson's lacking so swapped for DiMarzio PreB-1.
(Yeah I was young and stupid) The gibson pups are long gone and I plan to pass the axe on to my daughter. (at 24 yr she can appreciate it).
IF the APS-1 is genuine and operable, I am thinking of putting it on the Gibson in the neck position with the DiM at the bridge..
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Any other suggestions? (Preferably ones that do not involve a large cash outlay)
Tks
