Are ricky's limited

I was looking at a very beautiful Rickenbacker 620 the other day, as you do, and was thinking about one. Problem is, they just strike me as lacking versatility?

Can anyone with one explain this to me?

Re: Are ricky's limited

I played one (son't know which model, it was solid) for only like, 10 minutes, but it did feel like a high quality guitar. I played it through a Marshall DSL401 and it was awesome clean, bright, spanky, and with plenty of character. Overdriven, it did have a very old school vibe to it, and did sound good. I didn't play it with a ton of gain, so I can't comment on that.

Ricks...you either love them and you will play EVERYTHING on them, or you hate them and you WILL NOT play one at all OR you kinds dig them for the Ricki jingle jangle tone...I fall into the 3rd bunch. If I wanted that sound i would have to have a Ric to fo it...other that that country, blues, hard rock would sound out of place on a Ric...to me.
