Are You Familiar with this Gibson HB PU?

Re: Are You Familiar with this Gibson HB PU?

I can´t identify that pickup...
Just wait and see if someone else can...
I´ve tried the 57 Classics in a Gibson 61 reissue and in a Gibson Les Paul classic i think it was...
The 57classic is a great pickup...

I have the Gibson 490T in the neck of my Gibson Les Paul standard and it´s suppoused to be a little more modern version of the 57classic and it does everything from super clean to extreme high gain, never gets muddy

that's a very odd looking pickup. makes me think of tacky 80s electronics... maybe it's from the 80s??

Re: Are You Familiar with this Gibson HB PU?

I'm pretty sure I had a mid 80's (gibson) flying v with one of those in it. It also had a kahler trem and a 24 fret neck and just one p/u.

OBL and Ultrasonics both had that style of PCB. My guess is that the pickup was designed by Bill Lawrence, so it should be a pretty good pickup.

They came stock in my Orville by Gibson. 1988. They are the circuit board jobs and were used for only a short time. Designed by Bill Lawrence.
I've been back and forth on weather I should take them out. There good with drive and are slightly on the dark side. Lots of balls when needed with a good solid midrange.
