They dont make pickup covers for QP's. And I wasnt bending, I was strumming, and the string didnt make a sound, and I looked down and it's hooked under the eged of the pickup lip on the QP in the neck of my strat. This wouldnt happen with 13's or 14's. But I cant play my standards on this neck and size frets.

My strat with a QP is packed up right now, but i swear it came with a pickup cover:

Do you gig with 14s? -that sounds kind of extreme to me.

I used to play 11s and 12s, but found that my forearm was moving too much mass for it's own comfort over the course of a hour-long set.

My QP's black, but it aint got no cover. I wouldnt mind having a white one though. I know that it sounds like all that is extreme, and it probably is, but it's the only thing that I can play, since I work around heavy equipment all the time, I'm pretty big, and my grip is especially strong. I was just saying, 10's suck. And no, I dont use a shovel for a pick, I dont usually use a pick.

Only 9s for me, and I play very lightly- don't like to work too hard- that is what the amp and pickups are for.

I have small hands and play with 9's and 10's if I'm tuned flat... but strangely enough what happens to ME is that if I strum to hard the e or b string pops out of its slot in the nut...

But for your problem, I'd recommend doing what Steve Vai did to evo... covering the lip of the pickup with a small peice of tape. You don't have to write KONX on it though check it out... click on "all about evo" at the top. http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitars1.html
