Stupid Fender... they changed the specs on the new American series of instruments without letting anyone know. The Badass II's are designed to fit with all Fender P and J basses without having do any drilling or other modification... yeah, right.
The first thing I noticed that was fishy was that there were only 3 screws holding my bridge in place, despite the claims on the New Bridge's package that the stock is supposed to have 5 screws... hmmm... I figured, "hey, no problem! I'll just slap it on, and if it's not holding tight enough, I'll drill some more holes and it'll be just peachy!" In fact, the spacing of the 3 screws is wider than the spacing of the 5 holes on the bridge. But they're still close enough together that I can't just DRILL, I'll have to plug the holes up and cement the plugs with putty, and THEN drill into the body! :damnit: :chairshot :headache:
SO much more labor than I signed up for. This was supposed to be a quick, fun little swap. Not a full project. Damn it.
Just a warning for anyone trying to do the same to their new MIA bass...
