Don't see many of these around so I'll be surprised how many of you might be familiar with this guitar. Basically, it's a LP-style design, but slightly lighter. Has switches to split both pickups. Neil Schon used to promote the PE line back in the early 80's. Anyway, I took the original higher gain pickups out and replaced them with a set of Dimarzio Virtual PAFs. To my ears, the tone is just too sterile and cold. I want to warm it up. FWIW, I like '59s a lot, and I'm starting to wonder if the '59s is what I'm wanting to hear. Maybe the electronics need to be upgraded (probably do) as the guitar was stock when I got it. Great player, just need to get the tone sorted out. Any advice from you folks is appreciated.
