Arion Tubulator as clean boost?

My Boss SD-1 doesn't work with my Engls, my tubescreamer got lost and isn't to be found anywhere and i want to give my Sovereign a slight boost to push it further and tighten it up.
There's a tubulator on evilbay and it should go for a good price(I'm low on money), and so since a lot of people here rave about it i need your oppinions.
Will it tighten up the amp and add some power when used with the gain low and the volume up?

I'm a recent devotee of the Tubulator. It's a fantastic pedal. I set mine with the gain on 0, tone around 12 o'clock, and volume cranked, and I can't stand not to have it on. The only time it gets turned off is if I want a super clean tone. It's not totally clean, though, and I do intend to mod mine for less gain.

Does Musicians Friend deliver to Germany? If so, they can be had for ~$10 sometimes.

i can probably get that one for about 10-15€ , so importing from the US would be way more expensive than winning the auction

IMO it can't really be used as a clean boost, being a tube screamer derivative. There is slight dirt even at lowest gain setting. Of course it will mess with your sound, cutting off bass and treble and making the mids appear humped. I say get it anyway, it sounds lovely at what it does.

BTW... MF had marked it as a discontinued item.

I really wouldn't think of it as a great pedal for clean boost, the gain is 50/50 when it comes to dirty/clean but I find it is more appropriate to push a clean boost INTO it. LoL

+1 Good goose pedal, not a good CLEAN boost.

I love mine and it's been a part of my rig for nearly 2 years now...always on. It is a bad choice for a clean boost. It however pushes the hell outta any amp it touches! LOVE it.
