ASAP amp perchase advice!!!

Ive been gasing for a crate palomino v16 class A for a long time, cuz im tired of ss amps. There's two on for ebay, one goes in 4 hours. The current bid is $190, im gonna go as high as 250.

ive got a roland cube 60 right now, and im really ready for some real tone. I can probly sell the cube for 250 or 300.

im a college student, so an amp thats any louder, or costs any more is out of the question.

should i take the jump??

$250.00 would be too much I think, I bet I could get a brand new one for $300.00 at any store.. They're good amps though.

Walk in with cash and see. You should pay no more than 50 cents on the dollar for used gear imo.

I'd agree you should be able to do better than that. As far as used gear goes, it kinda depends on what you're talking about, some things hold their value better, but a crate shouldn't be too expensive used imo.

In any case, that is a hot little class A amp- I have the Crate VC20, (basically the same amp, just older) and after some tube and speaker changes, it's a little tone machine.
