ASI Speakers/Quantum Amps?

I've kinda "inherited" a nice homemade 2x12 cab built by a friend who's passed.

Was bored & opened it up,it's got 2 ASI speakers in it(8 ohm,50-80 watts).Haven't played thru it yet,just wondering if anyone has had any exp w/these speakers?

All I could find on Google was pretty limited,although I do vaguely remember the Quantum ads w/Jon Bon Jovi.I "think" they were one of Ovation's underling companies,but really can't find much...

HA! I had a Quantum mini stack way back in the day ... I don't even remember if it was any good. It did inspire one of my earliest prog songs, though: I Am The Quantum, lol. :)

The first amp I ever played through was my brother's Quantum combo. I can't really say what my 2015 ears would think of it, but I would almost buy one for nostalgia.

I have a 4X6 Quantum cab loaded with 2 vintgage Alnico Jensens, a vintage Alnico I-don't-know-what and an Eminence ceramic. i use this cab with my Vox Lil' Night Train and it sounds fantastic.

It was the worst-feeling carpet known to man, as I recall. I can't even think of anything to compare it to. Pubes, maybe.

Depends on whose pubes, I guess.

At any rate, I don't remember much about those amps from backinnaday, but I do remember the green accents and the feel of that carpeting. Eww. Ick. Makes my skin crawl even now.

All I know is that cats seem to view any tolex covered object as the perfect scratching post.

Try it yourself and you'll know why.

Or just make loud sounds come out of it and they'll likely avoid it.

Yeah,the cab is homemade,none of teh ickey stuff...

Actually sounded pretty good when I could spank it, prolly have time later & will check back in...
