Atomic 18 watter vs. Atomic 50 watter: tone differences?

Anyone have both of these or used both of these?

Is there a difference in tone between them at all? They are both linear amps, but the 18 watter uses EL84's and the other uses 6L6's, so I wonder if there is a slight tone difference.

Thanks!!

I have the 18w, 50w 1x12 and 50w 212. Surprisingly they really all sound very similar. Main differences between the 18w and 50w is the clean headroom. The EL84 gives more creamy tone, while the 6L6 is a bit more punchier. Also the 50w gives you more options, like a master vol, ext speaker out, steroe/mono mode for slaving to another Atomic. The 212 does have a bit more bass response and sound throw due to it's size. Each speaker I believe is baffled and has it's own bass port under it.

I used 2 18w for 2+ years without an issue. Now I use the 2 50w 1x12s live most of the time. Even though I don't play louder generally I have more headroom when I do have to get abit louder in the mix.

Thanks, ION. Very helpful to hear your response.

One of the bands I produced has 2 guitarists. Old school Glam Rock style. One used my 212 Atomic and the other used my Bray Modded 1959 SLP Plexi RI. In a live mix they sat so well with each other. Even in rehearsals, no mic'd up, they both cut through great! Had the Marshall in a 4x12 with the PPIMV Master on 3-4, and then the Atomic 212 on 4.5-5.
