Hey Dave... You said "Wire the cap to go from the middle contact to the 2 and 4 contacts"
I understand the premise with leaving the middle position untouched by the cap. But exactly how do i wire one cap to make contact with the 2, 3 & 4 posts?? Thanks

Wire the cap to go from the middle contact to the 2 and 4 contacts. That way the middle position is left unaffected. You can use two caps if you want to fine tune the low end roll off for each quack position.”

Exactly as he says. Wire the cap from the middle contact to the 2 and 4 contacts. Solder the other end to either 2 or 4 and use the extra length on one side to bridge the 2 and 4, solder the cap to either 2 and 4 and use a piece of wire as a jumper between the two, or have 2 different caps of different values if you prefer and have each one wired directly to the 2 and 4 contacts respectively.

It sounds like you are saying...solder one end of the cap to the middle (3) and to 2 and 4 contacts; and solder the other end to either 2 or 4 but bridge 2 and 4; and solder the cap to either 2 and 4 and jumper between them.

To be honest, your explanation is the most confusing I have ever read (and I am very familiar with guitar wiring).

Before we put this topic to rest, i have to agree with GUITARDOC that this has been the most confusing answer ever.... I want to leave the middle pup unaffected by the cap, and i want to engage the cap when only in the 2 & 4 positions. Using one cap, kindly make a diagram on how this do this.... Thanks

Those were either/or instances. Wire the end of the cap to 2 and bridge that connection over to 4 with a separate wire; wire the end to 2 and use the remaining length on that cap lead to bridge to 4; or use 2 different valued caps and solder one end from each to 2 and 4 respectively.

Oh, ok, so simply put, just run the cap from 2 to 4 and be done with it. The cap will be in the circuit when in the 2 ir 4 positions, correct?
