So I went out and bought this super cheap (10$) cordless drill which came with drill bits. Why did I go with cheap? Because I've had good experience with a previous cheap drill and at that price, you can risk it. Anything doesn't work, just upgrade.
For future reference to others, I needed the stuff in the following picture in addition to masking tape (or scotch tape), and of course the drill. A felt washer, or a washer out of old clothes is also nice to have.
And this is how it turned out!
I chose that side, and not the heel cap because firstly I wanted to try out a different position as I have another guitar 'buttoned' in that way. I must say, this position feels way more sturdy and secure.
All in all, it took me 2 minutes of drilling and screwing work. Remember to widen the entrance a little or the finish might crack when putting in the screw. Cover drilled surface with tape. So if you have an acoustic without a button, and an extra button lying around somewhere (because maybe you replaced your old buttons on your electric with strap locks), you can always do this
