Thanks Lew. It is a beauty. Here it is again, (next to the hot tub :laugh2: ) Unfortunately the attachment manager wouldn't accept a larger image.
Jeff,

Lovely looking Archtop - I take it you play the guitar when you are in the bath!!
Anyway to encourage some more folks to post their Hamers - the next one is my Artist Custom - Seth Lover pups and being a semi-hollow (on the bass side) it is nice to play (acoustically) as well.

Gorgeous! I was looking for an Artist but came across a great deal on my Monoco Super Pro first...that's the only reason I didn't get the Artist. Lew

Re: Attention Hamer Guitar Owners - Pics

Why in the world is Hamer not regarded as highly as Gibson, Fender and PRS? I just don't get it! Is it the Cheap Trick connection that did a number on thier credability or what? :laugh2:

I have to admit that I put off taking Hamers seriously right up until the moment I actually tried one...that changed everything. :smack:

I do wish the Hamer finish was a little thinner...that's about the only "complaint" I have. The finishes tend to be a little thicker than I prefer.

Norm,
Thanks. If I play it in the hot tub, I've learned not to plug it in :laugh2:

The Artists I've played came with Seths, did yours? A real beauty.

I wondered the same thing but in my opinion the playability is better on the Gibsons I've played. I have owned Deans and I think they play better than the USA Hamers I've owned. The quality was flat out top shelf but I couldn't vibe with the playability. I know guys who feel the same way. Again, it's still a personal preference thing because I know Lew you LOVE the way your Monacos play. :)

Re: Attention Hamer Guitar Owners - Pics

I think the reason PRS has gotten to be such a household name like gibson & Fender, is that they lucked out and caught the eye of the current generation of bands (Nickleback, & everyone else under the sun). In addition to being really well made. Hamer doesn't push as hard IMO. They had Gary Moore as a signature artist & Rick N., from Cheap Trick, but that's it. They probably could have played their cards better...but then we would be paying a lot more money for Hamers now.

Maybe it's nice that they stay a little less know because they are kind of an unknown secret for us musicians or the people in the know. Kind of like USA Deans. That said, my Les Paul is still my best playing guitar(for me).

RR,

That is a nice looker and you should not sell it! I think that is really very nice - what so you think of it? I know Papersoul likes his one.

Norman (oh and I'll tease you all a bit more and post my other Hamers in a short while!!)

Re: Attention Hamer Guitar Owners - Pics

Guys, I had trouble getting the attachment manager to accept that tiny pic of my Archtop. How did you get those huge pics on there? Nice job BTW.

Re: Attention Hamer Guitar Owners - Pics

Norman, nice Monaco! :)

Riff Raff, why are you going to seel your Hamer Mirage???? I had one but sold that along with my Studio to get my Les Paul. The LP is the perfect singlecut for me. I am in love with it! That said, I still want a strat scale guitar and was considering a Strat......but I felt like the Mirage suited me better so maybe I'll start looking for another used Mirage in a nother year or so and that will satisfy my strat desires since I felt it played like a Strat but better due to the flatter radius. Plus, I could always split the coils.

Then, all I would need is a PRS or Dean hardtail and an SG! :32:

Somebody want to brak the news to my wife? :laugh2:

Re: Attention Hamer Guitar Owners - Pics

Norman T - the Mirage is kind of a strange animal - it's got the HB's with a strat scale neck (but it's a set neck guitar) and a trem - it doesn't do a really great Les Paul sound because of the trem but it does have it's own sound which is really pretty good - I'm thinking about dropping in a Custom Custom in the bridge to thicken the tone up a little - the only problem with doing this is I feel it will kill the really good position 4 strat tone this thing gets in the middle position (splits the JB in the bridge), so there's the trade off. Overall it's a great guitar - but it doesn't compare in sound to my Heritage 535.

Sweat Lou - nothing plain about that - I love the look!

My Mirage sounded great with the JB but sounded better with the Rio BBQ. You might want to try one. Anyway.........the Mirage has one of the biggest and most full tones you can get out of a guitar.

The Rio's seem to be a pretty hot item right now, lots of guys using them, I'll look into one! tx!
