Attention: Yngwie fans

Re: Attention: Yngwie fans

I would love a plexi with a footswitchable effects loop! But unfortunately I don't think I could rock anything with yjm's name on it, I would be judged to harshly.

Re: Attention: Yngwie fans

I wonder if he'll actually use this one. Does anyone remember the signature head he had with Rhino, several years ago? He claimed that he was going to use it live, and keep the Marshalls in the studio. Maybe since this IS a Marshall, he will.

Weird! I gotta find some sound clips of that thing.

Hate the player, love the amp! That's lookin' real good!

You "hate" the player?

Personally, I love the guy. No... I can't listen to his stuff over and over like I used to do for the second half of the 80's. And I don't own any strats with scalloped necks like I used to. But I dig that Yngwie is still out there being Yngwie -- doing his thing.

Long live Yngwie! (And I am curious about this amp.)

This is the only clip I can find of any Rhino amp, and it's not the Yngwie. It's hard to tell what it sounds like, anyway. Listen to this "demo" at your own risk.

WOW!

Best show I ever saw 1986, small place called The Crest Theater in Sacramento CA, with about 500-600 people. A band called "Wild Dogs" opened the show and then this Band called "Talas" with this Bassist named Billy, that blew me away! And then there was this guy that left a band by the name of "Alcatrazz". Well, he ROCKED that place like I'd never seen anybody ever do before, and by that time in my life had had seen some serious players. Nobody has compared to that performance since!

Re: Attention: Yngwie fans

Talk about vintage-modern!!!!! That think is foooking awesome!!!

I hope I never hear it...I may want it. I already know the setting:

3, 5, 7 BMT

Gain ~5, Volume 10

50 watt mode

attenuator at maybe 30%

Touch of reverb
Gain boost on

"You wanted the best, you got the best...." Da Nana nana nana nana nana nana nanananananan Da na! [pick slide] DA NA!

Hah, yeah a little hard to rate that. But from what I've read, people were saying it nailed the Yngwie tone. To top it off, I saw where one was sold for $300! I'd love to come across one.

Re: Attention: Yngwie fans

probably not, but since Marshall is making this one(about time actually) is it really a clone?

Depends. I mean, some purists would say "Gibsons" aren't Gibsons because of how many companies have owned and threw away the company and the fact that the original templates and blueprints are gone... same with Fender. Is a 2011 Fender NOS 1957 Stratocaster a "1957 Stratocaster"? No. It's close but it's not really the real deal. Same deal here. There are companies like Metro that nail the classic Plexi tone and painstakingly replicate everything down the original NOS sources for the tubes, caps, resistors and wire. But it still isn't a 1960's Plexi in a strict sense.

I was being kinda snarky. I mean, everybody has to make money and I'm sure Marshall fans would rather have the name "Marshall" on a Plexi than "Metroamp", if they can't find the real deal.

I'm sure this one isn't supposed to be a NOS replica though. Good for Yngwie getting his own custom rig.

been doing some reading on the marshall forum about this new "YJM100" and its supposed to have a built in dod 250 in the circut that you can turn on and boost the sound and gain and turn it off and have it bypassed and have a stock 100 watt SLP
