Attenuator question

Right, say I want to run a full stack, but with an attanuator, would I need two?

(I know if I want less volume I should ditch a cab, but just for arguments sake)

Re: Attenuator question

No, as all the attenuators I've seen have two speaker outputs. However you would have to ensure the attenuator is appropriate to the load. So with a Hot Plate, assuming you're using 16 ohm 4x12s, you'd need a 16 ohm HP for 1 cab, and an 8 ohm HP for 2 cabs.

Re: Attenuator question

With MassLite you dont need to worry about the Ohms and it has two out puts, so yeah with masslite you wont need neither.

Re: Attenuator question

I have a 100w Weber Mass and that has 2 speaker outputs and Ohmage selector, so that could be a good option :)

Re: Attenuator question

Oh gawd, don't tell me its for sale! I really can't afford it!

Re: Attenuator question

I'm pretty certain I want to sell my 16 ohm Hot Plate, as I've sold the only amp I was using it with and I could use some sponds for other purchases. It's probably not your best option if you want to switch between one and two cabs though.
