gibson p90 info -

does anybody know the specs for gibson p90s ?

i have been looking at a lot of p90s lately for a partscaster project and the gibson p90 seems to be the standard that is most often referenced - just looking for general info like dc resistance, type of mags and wire used -

thanks everyone -

Re: Attn Gibson Gurus - P90 Info

Well, there are about 60 years of P90s to wade through (as well as the aftermarket makers), but the current production is around 7K, 42 AWG wire, the usual dual magnets (probably A5), and a different baseplate as compared to older versions. The stock Gibsons actually sound pretty good, BTW.

good point - i should have been a little more specific - i am refering to the gibson p90s currently being sold - gibson set the standard for p90s and i see a lot of comparisons to them but hadn't been able to find any info about their specs - thanks for the info -

Re: Attn Gibson Gurus - P90 Info

The modern Gibbo P-90s I've had were all 8k+. They have 42 AWG that looks like PE, but who knows what insulations Gibbo is using...it's probably SPN.

Re: Attn Gibson Gurus - P90 Info

classic p90s are 10,000 turns of 42 pe wire so =/- 8k. i just played a '53 les paul last night and it was to die for. killer tones all around
