A producer I know who has big connections to mid/major labels in Nashville tuned a girl to a record deal. Seriously she couldn't sing worth a crap in the studio she could only sing live for some reason. He spent some 2 days just tuning vocals and a label picked her up because of the production he did.

Normally we seem to condemn people for not being able to back up their recordings in a live context...

I've thought about picking up Antares, but I am afraid I'd use it as a crutch rather than actually working on my vocal ability.
vinterland said:I can't really answer any specifics here but lots of singers have "red light syndrome" where they just can't pull it off in the studio. Maybe they are more comfortable being able to just belt it out on stage? I dunno.
