Avalon DI

Anyone have experience with an Avalon DI for bass? I hear it is awesome for bass. However, I am not going to spend this kind of cash for a bass DI. Would it work well with a POD XT for guitar also? Can I use this sucker as a mic preamp for a mic'ing a guitar amp?? Thanks!:yell:

Re: Avalon DI

I have also heard great things about Avalon products...but they are a bit too expensive for me
it should be able to take signals from keyboards and active pickups because the input is Hi-Z
However, for micing up a guitar amp you would need a good preamp, also made by Avalon, which will take your microphone signal and...well, do wonders with it:fingersx:

edit: It would work with POD as well, but why would you want to feed a signal from POD, which is already preamplified, to a DI?

Re: Avalon DI

The Avalon gear tends to be very transparent which is sometimes not what you want on a bass, sometimes. There are a lot of great pres out that don't cost as much.
